Scott Cohen, Career Advisor & SYE Coach

Scott Cohen provides coaching to students and helps connect them with employers through his role as a Career Coach for the Senior Year Experience (SYE) program at Tulane University. As a coach, he spends time co-creating a plan to make his students hopes and dreams a reality. He also builds rapport with students and learns about their strengths, skills, and abilities through utilizing effective and positive open-ended questions that encourages narratives. He holds a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Florida Atlantic University and bachelor’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Scott has enjoyed a diverse career as a paralegal for over a decade, in both large and small firms, as well as sales and marketing positions for companies such as United Health Group. As a Senior Student and Employer Advisor, Scott is devoted to supporting the career development of each Tulanian by connecting them with employment opportunities, internships, and alumni beneficial to their goals and professional endeavors.

Kathryn Santanilla is one of our Senior Year Experience (SYE) Career Coaches who is committed to her work with seniors in liberal arts who are shifting from their educational experiences into employment. In addition to working with seniors, she also meets with freshman through juniors who are exploring majors and gaining internship experiences. With a background in higher education and non-profit work, she brings an experience of working with diverse populations in career transitions. She has a Master of Health Science Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.

Laura Doré Wiley works with students to take the lessons they learn at Tulane in to the job world, build their confidence and resilience in the job search process, translate soft skills in to job strengths, and set out to the job world on the right foot. With a background in the startup world and leadership development, passion for Design Thinking, and commitment to creating more equitable systems Laura hopes to help Tulanians engage in transformative experiences that follow them past graduation.Originally from Abbeville, LA Laura is happy to return to New Orleans after two years in the cold of Chicago where she completed her masters in Higher Education at Loyola University Chicago. Laura received her B.A. in History from Louisiana State University. Outside of work, Laura likes to spend her free time finding new restaurants, learning about the complex history of Southern foodways, cooking, and reading cookbooks. Nicole Kiernan, Senior Student & Employer Advisor

Nicole Kiernan has a great appreciation for the challenges that students face and has witnessed how transformative it is for them to connect with their ideal job. She utilizes a solution-focused approach while striving to understand how personal narrative can be fulfilled through the discovery of new opportunities. She earned her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College, and a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University. She transitioned from counseling into the field of Supported Employment and saw firsthand how inspiration, coaching, and job attainment led to growth and health. She aims to empower students to align their interests, skills, and talents with their professional pursuits.
 

Molly Noonan, Senior Student & Employer Advisor

Molly Noonan graduated from Tulane in May of 2018 as a member of the Altman Program in International Studies and Business, earning dual degrees in Management and Communication. During her time as a student and after graduation, Molly gained professional experience in the entertainment industry, specifically in the world of television production. As a former student in both the School of Liberal Arts and the A.B. Freeman School of Business, as well as someone who navigated career opportunities in a unique industry, Molly is passionate about helping students build and accomplish individualized career goals. She’s thrilled to be back in New Orleans and can’t wait to meet you!

Denelle Warner is excited for the opportunity to support Tulane students on their career journey by helping them gain the tools needed for success. She has a diverse background in higher education and a passion for helping students accomplish their career and education goals. She earned a B.A. in Communication Studies from Louisiana State University and is currently pursing a Master’s degree in Adult & Higher Education from the University of Houston-Victoria. When Denelle isn’t looking for ways to positively impact those around her, she enjoys exploring her new home of New Orleans and spending time with family and friends!

Supporting students to succeed in higher education is a passion for Valerie Morgan. She has more than three years of experience in higher education, which includes student mentoring, academic support, and life skills education at the Tulane Academic Services Center. As both a course instructor of Majors, Internships and Jobs (CRDV 1090) and career advisor, she works with students to plan and actualize their academic and career futures. Valerie earned a Master's degree in social work from Tulane University and is currently pursuing an Associate Certified Coaching credential from the International Coaching Federation. Valerie genuinely enjoys getting to know her students and providing a personalized approach to success for each and every student.

Geneva Torrence, Career Advisor & Career Development Instructor

Geneva Torrenceis a higher education enthusiast with a passion for helping students succeed. She serves as a career educator and advisor. In her role as a career educator for the career development course Majors, Internships and Jobs (CRDV 1090), Geneva works closely with first-year students on academic and career planning. Along with teaching career development, she also does one-on-one career coaching and is an adjunct instructor for the Tulane School of Professional Development. Geneva enjoys the opportunity to work with others in a team setting and building interpersonal relationships. She holds a Master's degree in liberal arts from Tulane University and has earned her Associate Certified Coaching credential from the International Coaching Federation.

Eddy is brand new to Tulane and New Orleans, coming to us from the University of Miami in Florida. He is here to lead the NTC Career Services team, in collaboration with campus partners, to offer tailored career services that meet the needs of all Tulane students. To ensure students are at ease with the career development process, he's looking forward to creating new initiatives to enhance services here. His goal is to work on eliminating barriers for students to engage with the services and events and has access to opportunities and networks. As a first-generation college student and student mentor, he is passionate about serving the needs of this community specifically. Eddy has an M.A. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of PA and a B.A. in Speech Communication. He has presented at national events on career-focused initiatives including NACE this past year in Orlando, Florida.  Outside the office he spends time at his local church, capturing moments through photography and raising his 4-year-old son, Benjamin with his life partner Juliana.
