Completing Your Handshake Profile

Here are four quick steps you can take to jump-start your Handshake experience:

Step 1: Log In 

Go to https://tulane.joinhandshake.com/ and login via your student Tulane User ID and password.

Step 2: Fill out your profile.

If there are already details in your profile, this means data, usually based from the registrar, has been pre-loaded. Check to be sure all pre-loaded information is correct, especially your major and GPA (if included); if you find any errors, contact career services to correct it, as Handshake is unable to change any of your profile data.

Fill out your Education Section. Click the pencil next to your name and make sure you have your Major and Start/End Dates filled out.

Fill out your work experience. Make sure all positions you include have a job title, employer, time period and location. 

Fill out your interests. This helps Handshake populate opportunities specifically for you. 

Add any organizations and extracurricular activities you are a part of.

Add your professional skills, courses or certifications, and a profile picture.

Step 3: Upload your documents.

You can upload your résumé, cover letter and any other projects or documents that show off your skill set directly into Handshake. Résumés will be approved or denied with feedback for edits by our career advisors.

Step 4: Explore

Use the search bar, explore events and information sessions, and learn about upcoming Career Fairs.
